black works at night and underwater, if it worked nowhere then seals would never use it

Black does not work at night, except in the deepest of shadows, but then anything non-reflective would suffice.  The color black was omitted from the uniform(UCP/ACU) because it is not commonly found in nature.  Pure black, when viewed through night vision goggles, appears excessively dark and creates an undesirable high-contrast image.  Black creates a nice solid, bold outline, which is the opposite of the desired effect....which if you aren't following is a broken outline which leads to more effective concealment.  SEAL teams, as Carr stated, use black wetsuits.  This follows along the guidelines of natural concealment, where it can be found in ocean in ichthyoid species and sharks, but even then it's usually just a very dark blue.

On a side, I did a Google search for Navy SEAL uniform and it took six pages before I could find anything in black.  One was a SEAL vinyl model...in a wet suit and pic of a bunch of fat transit police.

As Grim said... They don't.

so? im 100% sure the seals can afford a woodland wet suit if needed, look at a fish, it is bright on the bottom and dark on the top, the seals wear black to hide while swimming

Dude... They don't MAKE camo-pattern Wet Suits. At least not that I know of. Underwater, camouflage is more or less indifferent from black. Generally not many people are watching the water, and the navy blue/gray color of the wet suit does a good enough job to blend with the water.

Even if they made a woodland wet suit, why would ANYONE wear it? There's no forest underwater. No freaky Atlantis world down there.

Which is exctly what I said in a previous post.

Quit being so argumentative.  We're just trying to help you understand some basics, regardless of what you know about SEALS.

i know that 99% of the time black is not the choice to use, as its easy to spot and is one standerd color so that makes it easy to see, but it IS used, and im sorry grim but i did not see that post, for airsoft black is dumb cause most people do not go swimming during games, which leads me to a question, why does S.W.A.T use it?

It is debatable why SWAT uses black.  Some say intimidation and some of those theories go back to NAZI fashion arguments.  The fact is it doesn't matter why they use black because it is not for concealment.  SWAT teams are usually employed after knocking on doors, serving warrants, and/or negotiating.

Dude... Do you honestly think a SWAT Operator, who may or may not get shot or blown up in the next hour is wondering how cool he looks when hes going in?
