Greetings and Welcome to the 2010 Maine Airsoft MILSIM Series and Operation: Broken Horizon.

OP:Broken Horizon is the first true MILSIM Event to be held at Harris Farm Field and will be a series of operations, with one operation per month and each operation representing a chapter in the overall story. The first event will be held in April, with one installment per month thereafter.

Because of the full-on, hardcore MILSIM nature of OP:Broken Horizon, strict rules will be enforced in order to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and realism. All are welcome to participate, but please be forewarned, this will not be your standard day of Airsoft and strict adherence to the rules will be required of all Operators in order to ensure your continued participation.

Hence, specific Event Rules are as follows:

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

Each Operator will adhere to their unit's uniform requirements. As this will be a Green vs Tan Event, Woodland and DCU will be required respectively. The rest of your loadout my be whatever color you choose, but your blouse and trousers will need to be either Woodland or DCU depending on what unit you choose to enlist in.

What faction the Green and Tan teams will represent will be announced very shortly.

CHAIN OF COMMAND

A strict CoC will be enforced. This means that there will be Leaders and there will be Followers. Each Operator will be expected to uphold their duties and be ready to follow orders to the letter. Insubordination will be dealt with accordingly.

UNIT STRUCTURE

OP:Broken Horizon will be employing realistic, real world military unit structures. Starting from the most basic of units, Operators will be grouped into 12-man Squads consisting of the following:

Squad Leader
Medic
Team Leader
- Automatic Rifleman
- Grenadier
- Rifleman
- Rifleman
Team Leader
- Automatic Rifleman
- Grenadier
- Rifleman
- Rifleman

Squads will then be grouped into Platoons and so on and so forth as deemed necessary by the number of total Operators.
***NOTE: Squads do NOT need to have an AR  or Grenadier, but I would strongly suggest it.

WEAPON AND AMMO/MAGAZINE RESTRICTIONS

Operators will adhere to Weapon and Ammo/Mag Restrictions as dictated by their roles within their unit.

What this means is that only Automatic Riflemen will be able to field SAWs and carry drum/box mags, only Grenadiers may deploy 203s, and only Snipers/Scouts may employ the use of field-approved SWS's. (And no, slapping a drum mag into an MP5KPDW does not count as a SAW!)

Everyone else will be considered a Rifleman (regardless of unit role) and are restricted to the use of only Mid-Capacity Magazines. You may carry as many mid-caps on your person as you wish, but they must be mid-caps only.

UNIT AFFILIATION AND PRIVATE FORUMS

Because of the on-going nature of OP:Broken Horizon, once an Operator enlists into a unit, that will be the Operator's unit for the duration of the series. This is in essence the Operator's tour of duty and not being able to bounce around between units will encourage more camaraderie and personal involvement in the simulation. Please bear in mind that new Operators may enlist at any time prior to the launch of a new chapter. But once an Operator is enlisted in a unit, that is the Operator's unit.

Which brings me to my next point -- Private Forums.

Each unit will have access to their own private forum for organizational and planning purposes. Within this forums, I will give out specific unit objectives. Where you go from there is up to you and your Leaders.

MANDATORY LOADOUT

Besides the required uniform and adherence to weapon and ammo/mags restrictions, all Operators will be required to have the following items. This is intended for the Event itself and for both your safety and the safety of your fellow Operators.

- FULL SEAL ANSI Z78.1 Goggles. Participants under 18 years of age are required to use FULL PAINTBALL MASKS.
- Red Rags (2)
- Hydration Unit
- Watch
- Boots with proper ankle support
- FRS/GMRS Radio

MEDIC RULE

In order to facilitate a much more realistic combat experience and encourage teamwork, the following Medic Rules will be in effect.

Any direct BB hit to a player's body, gear or weapon will be considered a HIT and the player will be considered WOUNDED.

A WOUNDED PLAYER (WP) will place a red-rag on their head, remain at the location where he was hit and begin his BLEEDOUT Timer.

BLEEDOUT Timer is 10 minutes.

A WP may call for a Medic, however he/she may not relay any other information to his unit.

A WP may be dragged to a different location by any LIVE PLAYER (LP). Dragging a WP involves having the LP maintain contact with the WP at all times with at least one hand. An LP dragging a WP may only jog to the new location, not run. Two LPs dragging one WP may run. LPs may fire their weapon while dragging a WP, but movement must stop if contact is broken between the WP and LP. Contact must be reestablished by both parties in order to resume movement.

A WP may be revived and brought back into play by the MEDIC ONLY.

In order to revive a WP, the Medic must maintain contact with the WP for 1 FULL MINUTE. After 1 minute is up, the WP may reenter the simulation.

If a MEDIC gets hit, ONLY another Medic may revive him by maintaining 1 FULL MINUTE of contact. Otherwise, the Medic must begin his COMBAT INEFFECTIVE TIMER.

COMBAT INEFFECTIVE TIMER (CIT) is 5 minutes.

When the CIT is in effect, the Medic may not heal anyone or do anything; the Medic cannot die, but he cannot do anything while in CIT. The Medic may be moved by teammates as in the manner stated above. After the CIT is up, the Medic may reenter the simulation and resume his duties.

If a player's BLEEDOUT Timer expires before he can be treated, that player is considered KIA.

Players that are KIA must remain with their squad until his entire Squad can return to the last Rally Point (RP) and Respawn.

KIAs are NOT allowed to break from their Squad and return to an RP on their own.

At anytime, the Squad Leader may declare his unit COMBAT INEFFECTIVE at which point the entire Squad must return to the last Rally Point. Once at the last RP, any KIA's within the Squad may respawn and the whole Squad may return to the simulation as one unit.

So, FIGHT as ONE TEAM or DIE as ONE TEAM....there is no other option.

EYE PROTECTION

All participants are required to have full seal goggles that are compliant with (or exceeds) ANSI Z87.1. No shooters, sunglasses, etc. If your goggles do not form a complete seal around your face and does not meet the required impact rating as stated above, they will not be allowed on the field.

Participants under the age of 18 are required to wear FULL PAINTBALL MASKS.

Participants not in compliance will not be allowed to play.

FPS FIELD LIMIT

All Weapons will chronograph with .25 BBs. We will have BBs for each participant to chrono with.

FPS Limit for all weapons are as follows:

AEG = 400 FPS
GBB = 400 FPS (all GBBs must be chronographed on a full gas load)
SAW = 450 FPS
SWS = 500 FPS

CHEATING

Maine Airsoft has a Zero-Tolerance Policy regarding cheating in any way, shape or form.

If any participant is found to be cheating, whether it be trying to cheat the chronograph, not calling their hits or doing anything not in compliance with Event Rules and Regulations in order to give themselves or their team an unfair advantage, they will be asked to leave the field immediately. Violators may be subject to being permanently banned from attending any future Maine Airsoft Events.

NO REFUNDS.

NO NEGOTIATIONS.

NO EXCUSES.

GOODBYE!

Airsoft is a game of HONOR, conduct yourself as such!

SPORTSMANSHIP, RESPECT and PROFESSIONALISM

All participants will treat each other, both teammates and adversaries alike, with Respect and Professionalism at all times. Do not call out your opponent's hits; doing so is considered very disrespectful and unprofessional. If any participant has an issue with another player,  immediately bring up your issue to Event Staff ASAP and we will take care of it from there -- do not take matters into your own hands.

Remember, if you are attending this event, you are a Professional Operator who upholds himself at a higher level and standard. Ensure that you conduct yourself at all times as such. Failure to do so will have repercussions.

Kiko's Glossary of Terms:

no0b (noun) -- someone who conducts one's self like a complete freakin IDIOT on and off the field; the word has no bearing on the length of time a person has been involved in Airsoft; may also be used as an adverb such as "man, showing up in sneakers is a noob move", etc.
