OPERATION: BROKEN HORIZON - ENLISTMENT THREAD

In the Republic of Savtorega, Gen Miguel Francisco -- leader of the Savtorega National Armed Forces (SNAF) -- has launched a coup d'etat and taken control of the country in an effort to control the nation's abudantly rich deposits of Tayselium, a mineral that has been discovered to be an effective fuel source multiplier. Gen Francisco has announced that the rest of the world will be required to comply with his demands if they wish to employ Tayselium to combat the ever growing global energy crisis.

The United Nations has authorized the deployment of units from the Alliance of Free World Forces (AFF) to Savtorega in an effort to liberate the country, bring the tyrant to justice and return the nation to it's rightful, democratic leaders.

I strongly urge all participants to be punctual. I hate Airsoft Time and this event will proceed on schedule whether you are here or not. Be punctual, be ready, be Professional and be there for your team!

****IMPORTANT NOTICE: As you may have noticed, once operations commence at 1100h, the simulation will continue non-stop for five hours until Index at 1600. There are no breaks to head back to Staging to reload, grab a quick snack, drink some Mountain Dew, etc. Once you enter the field, you are in the field. This being said, bring everything you will need with you in order to operate effectively for five hours -- ammo, radios, batteries, hydration, food, etc. Participants wishing to leave the field must request permission from Event Staff.

MISSION SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Mission specific objectives for each unit will be released in the Private Unit Forums. If anyone is discovered to be leaking confidential team information to the opposing team, the violator(s) will be subject to immediate disciplinary action.

Please bear in mind the following -- although Mission Specific Objectives MUST be completed in order for a team to achieve success in each chapter, they are also plot points designed to simply move the story forward. Beyond that, CO's are free to do whatever they wish within the context of the event. Each operation is intended to be an open ended, sandbox experience. Don't get tunnel vision and get creative.

ENLISTMENT

In order to enlist into a unit, all players are required to copy and paste the following information into a reply to this thread.

As this is the Event Enlistment Thread, the following is the only thing I want to see on this thread. Anything else posted on this thread that does not have anything to do with enlistment in the event will be immediately deleted. It is hard enough as it is to keep track of these things, I don't want it getting cluttered up.

****NOTE: If you wish to be assigned to a specific unit/squad with your buddies, please NOTE it on your enlistment form. Otherwise, you will be assigned randomly as needed.

****REGARDING SPECIALTY ROLES: Specialty roles will require the approval of specific personnel.

Commanding Officer & Executive Officer - Players wishing to apply for a Command Role will need to be approved by ME. Do not take this decision lightly. As a CO/XO you will not only be responsible for making Command decisions, but likewise, you will be responsible for the entire well being of your team. Also, COs and XOs will be required to commit to the entire length of the operation, which will run for several months. If a CO is unable to attend an event, it will be the XO's responsibility to assume and fulfill any and all command duties. If this is a challenge that you feel you are up to, please PM me and let me know why you think you are worthy of this endeavor.

Squad Leaders - Squad Leaders will require the CO & XO clearance prior to permanent unit assignment.

Sniper/Spotter Team - There will be one Sniper/Spotter team per Unit. Sniper/Spotter Teams will require CO & XO clearance prior to permanent unit assignment.

Special Warfare Team - Each Unit will have one SWT, consisting of six operators. SWT Members will require CO & XO clearance prior to permanent unit assignment.

Commanding Officers will be REQUIRED to PM once they have cleared an Operator for a Specialty Role.

Event Staff reserves the right to step in and alter anything they see fit if it is deemed that Command Personnel are not fulfilling their required duties.

MISSION BRIEFING

Chapter 1 - The Outpost

AFF is tasked with clearing and capturing Command Points (CPs) with the end goal being to establish an FOB on "Wolves Den".

Mission Details:

- AFF forces will start at CP ALPHA
- SNAF focres will start at CP BRAVO
- AFF must clear CP BRAVO, CHARLIE, SGC in that order, culminating with the establishment of FOB Wolves Den.
- At least 3 LIVE AFF Operators must occupy a CP for at least 5 minutes in order to capture it. Once a CP is captured that becomes the AFF's new spawn point (if needed).
- Once a CP is captured by AFF, SNAF forces must fall back to the next CP on the list (which becomes the new SNAF Respawn -- if needed) until finally ending up at Wolve's Den.

Mission Run Time:

1.5 hours

Victory Conditions:

AFF - Clear and capture all CPs and establish FOB Wolves Den before time expires.

SNAF - Prevent AFF from establishing FOB Wolves Den before time expires.

CHAPTER 2 - Eyes on the Prize

Satellite and UAV Scans have established that SNAF forces have fortified their positions at Ft. Harris, however they have not been able to acquire positive ID of Gen Francisco.

AFF must conduct recon missions and acquire at least 3 photographs clearly identifying Gen Francisco's presence - the HVT.

Mission Details:

- The HVT may not be hidden and must be openly exposed within the compound parameters.
- SNAF forces will be required to have at least 50% of it's personnel conducting patrols from Ft. Harris to North Bridge, Harris Outpost 2 and back to Ft. Harris in order to prevent SNAF forces from intentionally camping the HVT and creating a human wall around him.
- The HVT must not be engaged as AFF Command feels that his elimination at this juncture in the campaign will only create a power vacuum that will only complicate the already volatile conflict.
- The HVT is described as being of short stature, medium build, heavy Asian features and has a penchant for cigars.
- If compromised, AFF may have up to 1 more chance to restart the mission.

Mission Run Time:

1.5 hrs

Victory Conditions:

AFF- Acquire at least 3 photographs, clearly and positively identifying the HVT, and return these photographs to Command for verification at FOB Wolves Den before time expires.

SNAF - Prevent the identification of the HVT by all means necessary (in accordance with the rules of course) before time expires.

CHAPTER 3 - The Rescue

SNAF forces have captured Klik Dum Dum, an embedded reporter from the BBC and have threatened to publicly execute him as a display of their power.

AFF has been ordered to conduct a raid and rescue Dum Dum before the deadline, however, intelligence reports are unclear as to his exact whereabouts and it is not known as to whether he is being held at Harris Outpost 1 or 2.

Mission Details:

Klik Dum Dum (the HVT) must NOT be harmed in any way by either forces.

Gen Francisco wants him alive so that he may be made an example of all to see. If any SNAF personnel were to engage him whether accidentally or intentionally, there will be serious repercussions.

Likewise, if AFF forces were to accidentally engage the HVT, there will be serious penalties tallied against the team after Endex.

The HVT may be medic'd in the event that he gets engaged in any way.

Mission Run Time:

1.5 hrs

Victory Conditions:

AFF - Successfully rescue and return Klik Dum Dum to FOB Wolves Den alive and unharmed before time expires.

SNAF - Prevent AFF from rescuing Klik Dum Dum so that he may be publicly executed when time expires.

REQUESTED ROLE: Sniper, i have a 540 sniper rifle and i train almost twice a week in getting myself to shoot better, at my best day i can hit a target from my snipers max range of 300 feet.  I can run fairly well for an O.K. distance but nothing special. i do well at flanking and taking the enemy by surprise. i get 1 shot kill. i do very well at taking orders and i am very respectful towards my leaders.

I am in great physical shape, I passed my ROTC PFT with a score of 270. 250 was the minimum for the ribbon awarded for outstanding physical fitness. So I'm able to move around the field quickly and efficiently. Being a Marine Corps. brat i was raised with outstanding respect and discipline, so i will have no problems with other players or following orders. I can work an co-operate very well with a team, and I would like to be given the chance to display this in a true MILSIM event. I also believe that by giving a minor such as myself a chance at an important role, I will be able to prove that us young people can operate on the same level as others on the field and maybe gain respect to our abilities.
